Woensdagochtend 2 september heeft de politie een 32-jarige man uit Apeldoorn aangehouden nadat hij een vrouw probeerde te beroven op de Brinklaan in Apeldoorn. Getuigen schoten te hulp en hielden de verdachte tegen. De vrouw, een 46-jarige Apeldoornse, fietste vlak voor 09.00 uur over de Brinklaan met haar tas in haar fietsmand, voorop de fiets. Plotseling dook de 32-jarige man op naast de vrouw, trok de tas uit haar fietsmand en fietste er hard mee weg. Omdat de vrouw hard schreeuwde trok ze de aandacht van een groepje bouwvakkers. Twee van hen renden achter de verdachte aan, wat weer de aandacht trok van een fietser die de verdachte tegemoet fietste. Deze fietser hield de verdachte net na de bocht naar de Ruyterstraat tegen, en heeft samen met de andere twee mannen gewacht op de komst van de politie en de verdachte overgedragen. De verdachte heeft zich nadat hij was tegengehouden door de fietser niet verzet.
